Men's Cross Country Notches Fourth Place Showing at Main Line Invitational

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The 21st-ranked Haverford Men's Cross Country team began its season in earnest with the four-mile Main Line Invitational on Friday, finishing as the top Division III team at home on the Alumni Cross Country Course. The Fords placed behind Division I squads Villanova, Penn, and La Salle, but above Division III foes Swarthmore, Widener, Elizabethtown and Muhlenberg. 

The first to toe the finish for Haverford was reigning Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year Ryan Kredell, the 24th overall finisher in a time of 20:12.2, a new personal best mark. Just behind Kredell was Max Brelig, who crossed in 20:17.7, also a new personal best.  

Jamie Moreland was 36th in 20:28.7 for a 36th place finish while  Aaron Bratt and Charlie Ferguson were next to cross for Haverford, finishing in 20:29.3 and 20:32.6, respectively, for 37th and 39th place. Nico Tripeny finished 46th in a time of 20:43.6, while first year Miles Colescott was just outside the scorers in 48th, crossing in a time of 20:56.9.  Peter Buckley rounded out the Fords in the top 50, crossing in 21:02.9. 

Peter LaRochelleAmos Karlsen (21:34.0), Reza Eshghi (21:52), Matthew Denton (21:52.2), Seamus Fraser (21:57.6), Ryan Quenemoen (21:59.2), Jacob Gaba (22:13.5), and Luca Ponticello (22:23.4)all also finished within the top 75 for Haverford. 

Haverford will return to action Friday, October 1 for the prestigious Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh University. The meet will serve as a key benchmark for the Fords, as both nationally and regionally ranked squads will descend upon Bethlehem, Pa. for one of the largest meets in the nation. Action is slated to begin at 10 a.m.
