Men's Cross Country Opens 2023 Campaign With Alumni Race

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College men's cross country team had another strong kickoff showing at its Alumni/Open race, with 24 alumni returning for the team's annual lid-lifter on Saturday afternoon despite some rainy weather that delayed the start time into the 6 p.m. hour. 

Saturday's alumni/open race featured a total of 51 runners between the varsity, alumni and open entrants into the field. Peter LaRochelle won the individual title, crossing in 14:49, ahead of teammate Reza Eshghi (15:16). David Watt '20 was the top alumni finisher (15:18) while Micah Lachman (15:23), Matthew Denton (15:28), Seamus Fraser (15:28), Nathaniel Leighninger (15:30), Jakob Maiwald (15:32) and Evan Daniels (15:36) were also varsity finishers in the top 10 overall. Greg Morgan '19 crossed in 10th overall (15:39) as the second alumni finisher.

A complete list of the day's results is linked at the top of this page. The varsity squad returns to action in earnest at the Main Line Invitational on Friday, September 15. The men's race will start at 5:30 p.m. on the Alumni Cross Country Course.
