HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College men's cross country team moved up three spots in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches (USTFCCCA) Division III National Coaches Poll, the organization announced in a release earlier this week. The Fords check in at No. 16, and remain the top ranked team in the Metro Region.

Centennial Conference familiar face Johns Hopkins is the only other Centennial Conference school ranked in the national poll, as the Blue Jays sit in at No. 10. The top five schools in the poll remain the same; however, there was a shakeup in the top half and the middle.

UW-La Crosse moved up a spot, as they have moved into a tie at No. 3 with last week's No. 3 MIT. There also is a new No. 1, as Pomona-Pitzer moved into the top slot replacing North Central (Illinois), who slid down a spot into No. 2.

As previously mentioned, Haverford remains at No. 1 in the Metro Region over No. 2 Rowan of the NJAC and No. 3 Moravian of the Landmark Conference. Centennial Conference foe No. 4 Swarthmore and the NJAC's No.5 TCNJ round out the top five in the Metro Region.

The only movement seen in the Metro Region poll was the MAC's Stevens moving up a spot to No. 8 and the Centennial Conference's Ursinus (previously No. 8) falling down a spot to No. 9.

You can catch the No. 16 Men's Cross Country team next Saturday, September 30 at the prestigious Paul Short Run on the campus of Lehigh University. The meet is considered the largest collegiate cross country meet on the Eastern Seaboard. Events are slated to begin at 9:30 a.m.
