Full Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford College Men's Cross Country junior Peter LaRochelle has been named the Centennial Conference Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, the conference office announced in a release on Tuesday morning.

LaRochelle secured the honor again after he finished 29th overall with a time of 25:32 in a strong field of competitors at the NCAA Pre-Nationals Invitational this past Saturday at Big Spring High School in Newville, Pa.

The Great Barrington, Mass. product was the first finisher from the Metro Region in the 8K trek. The meet saw 377 total runners compete, as this race is often seen as a precursor for the upcoming NCAA Division III Championships in November.

LaRochelle's placement helped the Fords finish 11th out of a sizable field of 38 schools. Notably, there were 12 nationally ranked teams featured in Saturday's contest. Haverford collected 311 points on the day, outpacing No. 34 SUNY Brockport (13th place, 397 points)  and No. 35 Hope (15th place, 468 points).

The Men's Cross Country team returns to action on Saturday, October 14 at DREAM Park in Logan Township, N.J. for the Rowan Border Battle starting at 11:45 a.m.
