HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College men's cross country team has jumped up three spots in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches (USTFCCCA) Division III National Coaches Poll, the organization announced in a release earlier this week. The Fords check in at No. 29, and remain the top ranked team in the Metro Region.

Centennial Conference rival Johns Hopkins holds the 14 spot, as the Blue Jays are the only other school representing the Centennial Conference in the national poll. Four of the top five schools remain the same in the rankings; aside from one program making a big leap to slot into the top five.

MIT has shot up the rankings, moving up five spots from the week before, as the Engineers now reside in the No. 3 spot after a strong showing at the Pre-Nationals invite. Pomona-Pitzer took a tumultuous tumble, as the former No. 2 Sagehens dropped out of the top five, and slid down to ninth.

UW-La-Crosse also moved up a spot, as they now sit at No. 2 looking up at number No.1 North Central (Ill.). UW-Whitewater and Williams remain unmoved, as they round out the top five rankings at No. 4 and No. 5.

The Fords still remain at No. 1 in the Metro Rankings, staring over a pair of NJAC schools, in No. 2 TCNJ and No. 3 Rowan. Centennial Conference foe Swarthmore, and DeSales of the MAC Conference round out the top five in the Metro. The third and final Centennial conference school in the Metro, Ursinus, checks in just outside the prestigious five at No. 7.

The No. 29 Men's Cross Country returns to action this Saturday, October 14 at DREAM Park in Logan Township, N.J., for the Rowan Border Battle. The championship 8K race is slated to begin at 11:45 a.m.
