WBCA Poll

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's basketball team is receiving votes in both the latest D3Hoops.com and Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Poll. The Fords (21-6) enter the NCAA tournament on a four-game winning streak. Haverford is making its second straight appearance in the NCAA tournament, and third overall, after capturing the second Centennial Conference title in program history with a convincing 62-40 win on Saturday at Gettysburg.

In its opening game of the NCAA tournament, Haverford will square off with Rosemont College at 5 p.m. on Friday in Medford, Mass. Rosemont (24-3) won the CSAC Championship and enters the weekend on a 19-game winning streak after an unblemished run through the conference slate.

Host Tufts, ranked fourth in both the D3Hoops.com and WBCA polls, took down previously undefeated Bowdoin in the NESCAC Championship game and enters the tournament at 25-2 overall. Tufts has reached the Final Four in four of the last five seasons and has two NCAA championship game appearances during that stretch. Tufts will take on Western New England in the other NCAA First Round contest in Medford. Western New England (20-8) is making its first-ever trip to the NCAA tournament after capturing the Commonwealth Coast Conference title.

With a win in their contest on Friday, the Fords would advance to Saturday's second round contest, hosted by Tufts regardless of the outcome of Friday's matchups. Tip-off for that contest is also slated for 5 p.m.
