Kayla Robinson Named CC Player of the Week

HAVERFORD, Pa. - After guiding the Fords to a 2-0 week with a pair of double-doubles, senior Kayla Robinson of the Haverford College women's basketball team has picked up her second Centennial Conference Player of the Week Award, the conference office announced in a release this morning. 

Robinson notched double-doubles in both of Haverford wins with averages of 19.0 points, 14.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steal per game on 58.56 percent shooting as the Fords became the first team in the Centennial Conference to reach 10 conference victories this season.

The Bristol, Conn. product played 76 of 80 total possible minutes in that 2-0 week, logging a 20-point, 13 rebound effort against Muhlenberg before going on the road to impress with 18 points and 16 boards against the Diplomats. 

Robinson is currently third in the nation in double-doubles with 14, and leads the Centennial Conference in rebounds per game, total rebounds, offensive rebounds, defensive rebounds, and steals while also ranking fourth in points and eighth in points per game.

Haverford is off to a 13-5 start to the season under first-year Head Coach Grace Elliott, earning the 13th in the aforementioned 50-46 win at Franklin & Marshall on Saturday, sweeping the season series from the Diplomats. 

The Fords return to action with two more road contests this week, trekking to Maryland twice. The Fords head to Chestertown to wrap up the season series with Washington College Thursday (6 p.m.) before a 2 p.m. start at McDaniel on Saturday, January 28. The regular season will then conclude with four of the final five contests at home inside Gooding Arena, with that stretch beginning on Wednesday, February 1 against Bryn Mawr (8 p.m.).
