Virtual Senior Days: Haverford College Women's Fencing Class of 2021

With the 2020-21 winter sports unable to hold traditional Senior Days on campus, the Haverford College Athletic Department is recognizing these seniors in a virtual ceremony, with some special help from their teammates. Today, we celebrate Hanna Kopits – the lone senior on the 2020-21 Haverford College women's fencing team.

Women's Fencing Team Accomplishments Over Past Four Years

  • Placed as high as fifth at the Eastern Women's Fencing Conference (EWFC) Championships
  • Placed as high as seventh at the National Intercollegiate Women's Fencing Association (NIWFA) Championships
  • Recorded 36 dual victories facing some of the toughest competition, including Division I opponents

  • Co-captain
  • Two-time NCAA regional qualifier, placing 25th in both postseasons
  • Three-time EWFC All-Star, twice earning first-team accolades
  • Two-time NIWFA All-Star, placing fifth on two occasions
  • Numerous wins against NCAA Division I competition, including multiple victories against NCAA Championship qualifiers
  • Father, Lazlo Kopits '87, was men's fencing captain at Haverford
  • Uncle, Steven Kopits '83, was MACFA gold medalist for Haverford
