Six second half goals vaults women’s lacrosse to 9-6 win at Dickinson

CARLISLE, Pa. – After being handed its first loss of the season earlier in the week, the Haverford College women's lacrosse team impressed in a, 9-6, victory at Dickinson College Saturday. The Fords jumped out to an early lead and despite Dickinson tying the score at the half, Haverford outscored its opponent, 6-3, in the final 30 minutes.

Josie Ferri led Haverford (9-1, 2-1 CC) with three goals while Kayleigh Herrick-Reynolds and Jen Schmidt both scored twice.

Alysa Crellin, Katie Moore and Abby Larson each finished with two goals for Dickinson (5-2, 2-1 CC).

The Fords jumped out to a 2-0 lead as Herrick-Reynolds assisted Schmidt, then scored unassisted at the 20:29 mark.

Larson scored twice and Moore went coast-to-coast to tie the game, 3-3, at halftime.

The teams traded to goals to run the score to 5-5 at the 17:57 mark of the second half. Herrick-Reynolds and Ferri then scored just over two minutes apart to pull HC in front, 7-5.

Crellin scored with 14:10 remaining before Ferri and Kenny Likes added two more for a 9-6 lead with 10:28 left to play.

Leah Hammerschlag played outstanding in goal, making 16 saves and allowing just four goals for her seventh win of the season.

Jessie Clark made four saves in 35 minutes for the Red Devils. Amanda Morse played the final 25 minutes, making one save.

The Fords remain on the road as they take on Washington College Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.
