Women's lacrosse battles Rowan in final non-conference game of season

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College women's lacrosse team closed out its non-conference schedule Thursday evening at Swan Field with a 10-5 loss to visiting Rowan University.

Junior Dayna Kim gave the Fords (4-4) the early lead with her third of the season in the third minute of play. Haverford leading scorer Diana Perry added to the advantage with her 19th of the season at the 17-minute mark before the Profs (5-2) got on the scoreboard with 15 minutes to go until intermission.

Freshman Maura Grant restored Haverford's two-goal lead with her fifth of the year off a feed from Jamie Rosenstein at 13:55 and then Rowan closed out the half with four straight goals.

Trailing 5-3 at the break, the Fords looked to rally but Profs' goalie Lindsay Barrie (5-2) made life difficult on the hosts as she tallied six second-half saves. Freshman Sarina Manetta tallied her 12th of the season and assisted on a goal by sophomore Christina Gould but Barrie stood tall otherwise to help the visitors claim the victory.

Senior Anne Cullen (pictured) registered a game-high four ground balls while Gould chipped in with three ground balls and three draw controls. Senior goalie Shannon Horn (3-3) made five saves in the loss.

Junior Becca Wood paced the Rowan attack with a game-high three goals.

Haverford will look to bounce back on Saturday against visiting McDaniel College. The Centennial Conference contest begins at 1 p.m.
