Women's Lacrosse Has Four Named to All-CC Team

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Coming off an impressive 11-win season that saw it upset the No. 4 ranked Gettysburg College Bullets in double overtime, the Haverford College women's lacrosse team had four representatives named to the All-Centennial Conference team today.

Senior Diana Perry became just the 15th player in Centennial Conference history to be named All-Centennial Conference first team three times. The senior finished with 53 goals, third most in the conference. Perry's all-around game was on full display this season as she was fourth among conference foes in free-position goals, tied for third in caused turnovers and tied for seventh in ground balls.

The three-time All-Centennial Conference first team member ends her career first in program history in draw controls (167), first in free-position goals (46), tied for first in games played, third in goals (179), third in game-winning goals (eight), and fifth in points (193).

Two Fords were selected to the All-Centennial Conference second team. Senior Brianna Robbins set a career high with 23 caused turnovers, good for fifth in the conference. The defender also picked up 21 ground balls, her best mark in three seasons. Junior Megan Chenworth also made All-CC second team after finishing with 11 victories, the fifth most in a single season in Fords' history. Chenworth made 117 saves during the year and had a 10.45 goals against average. She is already fifth all-time in saves per game (5.13), seventh in goals against average (10.32) and eighth in wins (12).

One of three Fords to score at least 20 goals, sophomore Sarina Manetta had 21 tallies along with a team-high 48 ground balls. The All-CC honorable mention player also tied for the team lead with 25 caused turnovers and was second in draw controls (23). Manetta saw improvements in goals, ground balls and draw controls from her freshman to sophomore year.

Senior Dayna Kim was also named to the All-Conference Sportsmanship team. Chenworth was honored as the Centennial Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year which is given to a junior or senior on the All-CC team with the highest cumulative grade-point-average. Chenworth and Robbins also made the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll.

Gettysburg's Mandy Buell was named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Year while Franklin and Marshall's Vanessa Budd was named Defensive Player of the Year. F&M's Paige Moriarty was named Rookie of the Year and Gettysburg's Carol Cantele was named Coach of the Year. 

The four players on the all-conference teams is the most for the Fords since five members were on the 2011 All-CC teams. Haverford reached the Centennial Conference semifinals for the third time in program history this season.
