Women's Lacrosse Receiving Votes in IWLCA Poll

IWLCA Poll

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's lacrosse team has run off three straight Centennial Conference victories and now finds itself receiving votes in the latest Intercollege Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) poll. The poll ranks the top 20 teams, while the Fords (7-4, 3-1 CC) are one of eight teams listed as receiving votes.

The two most recent wins in Haverford's stretch have come against teams that are also currently receiving votes in the IWLCA Poll. During this past week, Haverford beat Muhlenberg by a 10-8 score. The Fords were also victorious on Saturday against a Dickinson side who was then ranked No. 20 in the IWLCA Poll.

Following its three straight conference victories, Haverford is in third place in the conference standings, just one game back of both Franklin & Marshall and Gettysburg.

The Centennial Conference currently has five teams represented in the poll. In addition to the three conference schools who are receiving votes, Franklin & Marshall and Gettysburg both held their positions as the Nos. 5 and 6 teams in the rankings, respectively.

Women's lacrosse will have to just one game this week as the team makes the quick trip to Bryn Mawr for a 1 p.m. start on Saturday. Following that contest, the Fords will be at home for three of their final four regular season games. The lone exception to the home slate will be a trip to battle the No. 5 Diplomats.
