Sarina Manetta Named CC Offensive Player of the Week

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Senior midfielder and co-captain Sarina Manetta (Commack, N.Y.) of the Haverford College women's lacrosse team was named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week after posting a career-best six goals and a total of seven points in Haverford's narrow loss to Christopher Newport on Saturday at Swan Field. Manetta also tallied seven draw controls in the contest, a career high.

Manetta has the early lead in the Centennial Conference with seven total goals and eight total points. Manetta's 10 draw controls is second in the conference in the early goings of the 2017 season. 

Last season, Manetta was named to the All-Metro Region second team by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) as well as first team All-Centennial Conference.  Manetta led the team in a number of categories, including groundballs (46) and draw controls (32) in addition to finishing second on the team in caused turnovers (24) and assists (11). Manetta was also third in goals scored (23) and fourth in points (34).

Haverford next returns to action on Saturday with a non-conference contest against Randolph-Macon scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Swan Field. The team then departs on its annual spring break jaunt, taking on Kenyon (March 6) and Roanoke (March 8) in Port Charlotte, Fla. as part of the annual Spring Fling in Southwest Florida.
