Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford sophomore attacker Allie Gibbons (Baltimore, Md. / Garrison Forest) has been named Centennial Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending March 5, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon. Gibbons netted a career-best five goals for the Fords in a 16-10 win over visiting Randolph Macon on Saturday afternoon.

Gibbons is currently in a first place tie with teammate Sarina Manetta for the Centennial Conference goals lead with 10 thus far this year on just 13 total shots.

Against the Yellow Jackets, Gibbons gave Haverford early momentum with a pair of first half goals that twice gave Haverford an early lead before responding with three in the second half, tallying at 8:51, 6:33 and 4:47 remaining in regulation, respectively, completing a natural hat-trick that gave the Fords a 16-9 edge and sealed victory in the waning minutes of the contest.

Haverford takes on Kenyon College this evening (5:00 p.m.) before a Wednesday matinee contest with Roanoke (12:30 p.m.). Both contests are slated for Port Charlotte, Fla. as part of Haverford's spring break trip. Haverford will play its next home contest at Swan Field in the conference opener on March 25 against McDaniel.
