Sarina Manetta Named to IWLCA Senior All-Star Game Roster

Full IWLCA Senior All-Star Game Release/Rosters

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Sarina Manetta '17 of the Haverford College women's lacrosse team was selected by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) to play in the 2017 North-South Division III Senior All-Star Game, the organization announced in a release on Friday afternoon. Manetta will play for the north squad.

The All-Star game will take place on Tierney Field at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. on Saturday, June 3rd. Opening Draw for the Division III game is slated for 2:00 p.m. Fans can access a live stream via IWLCA-tv.com.

Manetta becomes the first Haverford player to be named to the All-Star contest since Brianna Robbins '15 played in the game in 2015. Manetta is Haverford's 11th all-time participant in the game.

Manetta adds another plaudit to All-Region and All-Conference honors after a stellar senior campaign.  Manetta had a breakout 2017, tallying career-best 40 goals and 48 points while winning 64 draw controls. Her 40 goals included three game-winners. The Commack, N.Y. product set new career single-game highs in points, goals, draw controls and free-position goals during the 2017 season.

Manetta was also awarded Haveford's Gregory Kannerstein '63 Award, given to an individual whose combination of outstanding athletic achievement and leadership has been a significant factor in a team's competitive success and whose level of performance has brought distinction not only to the individual but also the entire athletic program.

In 2017, Manetta set a new single-season program high in draw controls (64) and draw controls per game (4.00). Manetta leaves Haverford in the top five in program history in draw controls (3rd), games played (4th) and shots on goal (4th).

The IWLCA recognized 132 senior student-athletes overall across the three divisions. The D-I contest will begin the day at 11:30 a.m. while the D-II game is slated for 12:45 p.m before the Division III game caps off the day.
