Women's Lacrosse Ranked No. 25 in IWLCA Poll

Full IWLCA Poll Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford Women's Lacrosse team (9-2, 3-1 CC) checks in as the No. 25 team in the nation in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) Division III poll. Haverford was receiving votes last week and made the jump into the Top 25 after a pair of conference wins against Muhlenberg and Dickinson this week.

Haverford's 9-2 start matches the 2013 squad that finished with 13 wins and a berth in the Centennial Conference semifinals. The Fords have already eclipsed last season's win total in just 11 contests under first year head coach Katie Zichelli.

This week, the Fords reversed 2017 losses to Muhlenberg and Dickinson to pull to 3-1 in conference play. In both games, the Fords benefited from a second half surge after trailing at the intermission. In the second half of both contests, Haverford outscored its opposition 17-8.

Salisbury takes over the top spot in the poll, with 22 of a possible 25 first place tallies. Gettysburg falls to No. 2, with two first place votes after falling to Franklin & Marshall while the Diplomats have risen to No. 5, taking the remaining first place tally. TCNJ and Amherst are ranked third and fourth, respectively.

The Fords will head to defending national champion No. 2 Gettysburg on Saturday, April 14. Opening draw is slated for 1 p.m. on Clark Field.
