Women's Lacrosse Receiving Votes in IWLCA Poll Entering Final Week of Regular Season

IWLCA Poll Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Entering the final week of the regular season, the Haverford Women's Lacrosse team (10-4, 4-3 CC) is receiving votes in the IWLCA Coaches Poll, the fourth consecutive week the Fords are either ranked or receiving votes in the national polling of women's lacrosse coaches.

Haverford went 1-1 last week, dropping a hard-fought contest against No. 25 Washington College before roaring past the Bears of Ursinus with a 19-3 victory on Senior Day at Swan Field. All four of the matchups that the Fords have lost this season have come to teams that are currently nationally ranked, with the Fords being umblemished other than defeats to current No. 1 TCNJ, No. 4 Gettysburg, No. 7 Franklin & Marshall and No. 25 Washington College.  TCNJ took over the top spot in the national poll after beating the previous No. 1 Salisbury by a final score of 10-1. Amherst, Salisbury, Gettysburg and York (Pa.) round out the top five in the national landscape.

The latest set of NCAA Regional Rankings, which are used as part of the selection criteria to the NCAA tournament, will be unveiled on Wednesday afternoon.

This week, the Fords will host Bi-Co neighbor Bryn Mawr Wednesday night at 7 p.m. on Swan Field before heading to Clothier Field on the campus of Hood Trophy rival Swarthmore for a matinee to close out the regular season on Saturday at noon. The Fords will look to clinch a spot in the Centennial Conference tournament with a 2-0 week.
