HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford sophomore defender Emily Krupnick has been named the Centennial Conference Defender of the Week, the conference office announced in a release on Monday afternoon. This is the first weekly honor for the product of Mountain Lakes, N.J. and Mountain Lakes High School.

Krupnick caused a career-best four turnovers and collected four ground balls as the Centennial Conference tournament-bound Fords dispatched Swarthmore, 12-5 on Saturday. Krupnick was part of a Haverford back line that allowed just five goals, the fewest number scored by the Garnet against the Fords since 1993. With the victory, Haverford improved to 9-1 in the last 10 meetings between the two programs, dating back to the 2009 campaign.

Krupnick has appeared in all 16 games for the Fords this season, making 15 starts. As an integral member of the defense, she has recorded 12 caused turnovers and 20 ground balls on the season, including multiple caused turnovers on four different occasions and multiple ground balls in six contests.

The Fords will return to action Wednesday in the first round of the Centennial Conference Women's Lacrosse Championship. The fourth-seeded Fords (12-4, 6-3 CC) will welcome in the fifth-seeded Red Devils of Dickinson (8-8, 5-4 CC)  for a 5:30 p.m. contest on Swan Field. The winner will advance to face top-seeded Franklin & Marshall Saturday at noon in Lancaster, Pa.
