IWLCA Honor Squad Release

IWLCA Honor Roll Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's lacrosse team has been named an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Squad, the organization announced in a release on Monday afternoon. In addition, six Fords were named to the 2018 Zag Sports Division III Academic Honor Roll.

Haverford was one of 339 programs from across Divisions I, III, III and the NAIA selected as IWLCA/Zag Sports Academic Honor Squads for the 2017-18 academic year. In order to qualify, programs must have posted a 3.0 or higher team GPA during the academic year. The Fords join fellow Centennial Conference members Bryn Mawr, Dickinson, Gettysburg, McDaniel, Muhlenberg and Swarthmore.

Seniors Alyssa Sherman and Kate Sollee joined juniors Allie Gibbons, Kirsten Mullin, Rina Rosnow and Sarah Svetec on the Honor Roll. To be selected to the honor roll, student-athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student and have accumulated a GPA of 3.50 or higher. Sherman and Sollee repeated the honor from last season.  In total, the IWLCA honored 639 student-athletes from 189 institutions in Division III.

In 2018, The Fords capped the season with 12 wins, the most since a 13-5 record during the 2013 campaign. In Head Coach Katie Zichelli's first year at the helm, the Fords spent ample time in the national spotlight, with consecutive rankings in the national coaches' poll and four straight weeks receiving votes. The 2018 season marks the 10th straight season that Haverford has placed at least one student-athlete on the IWLCA All-Region team, as sophomore Anna Meyers joined Rosnow on the All-Metro second team.
