Volleyball draws Richard Stockton in Juniata Regional

Fresh off its fourth straight Centennial Conference championship the No. 25-ranked Haverford College volleyball team learned Monday that it will face Richard Stockton College, New Jersey Athletic Conference champions, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at Juniata College Thursday at 3 p.m.

Opening round play takes place from Thursday through Saturday. This is the Fords' fourth NCAA appearance. The winner will face the winner of Eastern University-Frostburg State University Friday. The rest of the regional consists of Mount Union College versus Lebanon Valley College and Cabrini College versus Juniata College.

Haverford (30-3) defeated Stockton (27-11), 3-2, back on Sept. 19 at the Salisbury Invitational Tournament. Against potential second round opponents the Fords defeated both Frostburg State, 3-0, and Eastern, 3-2, this season. If the Scarlet and Black advance to the NCAA Regional final the only opponent from the other half of the bracket they played this season was Juniata. Haverford was swept by the Eagles Sept. 23 in Huntingdon, Pa.
