Volleyball taken to limit, but outlast Green Terror, 3-2

WESTMINSTER, Md. – One win stood in the way of a perfect Centennial Conference season for the No. 25 Haverford College volleyball. A scrappy and determined McDaniel College team gave Haverford all it could handle, but the Fords pulled out a 3-2 (23-25, 25-19, 23-25, 25-21, 15-12) victory. With the win Saturday Haverford completed its first 10-0 season since joining the Centennial in 1993.

Haverford (28-3, 10-0 CC) amassed 60 kills as a team. Rebecca Salvo had a team-best 23 and added 22 digs for a double-double. Kelsey Cantwell also had a double-double with 14 kills and a team-high 27 digs. Franny Glick, Caitlyn Tranquillo and Olivia Coburn-Flynn all had six kills apiece.

Kate Comey dished out 49 assists and served three aces. Kaelyn Anderson recorded a career-high 22 digs.

The Fords now have their sights set on claiming their fourth-straight conference title next weekend. Their semifinal opponent will be the winner of Wednesday's quarterfinal match between Swarthmore and Muhlenberg. The times for all tournament matches will be announced Monday.
