Cantwell named player of the year; Comey gets second-team nod

LANCASTER, Pa. – Haverford College volleyball senior Kelsey Cantwell was named Centennial Conference Player of the Year as announced by the league office Thursday. In addition to Cantwell's honor she was also named First-Team All-Centennial Conference while junior Kate Comey earned second-team honors.

Cantwell emerged as Haverford's primary hitter this season, leading the team with 3.11 kills per set while her 336 kills were second most in the Centennial. She led all Centennial setters in assists for the third season in-a-row, handing out 1,108 which was an average of nearly 10 assists per set. In conference matches Comey dished out 375 assists and had 35 or more in six of 10 matches. Last season Comey was named second-team in addition to all-region and All-America accolades.
