Volleyball clinches playoff spot with sweep of Dickinson

CARLISLE, Pa. – The Haverford College volleyball team clinched a spot in the upcoming Centennial Conference tournament with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-16) victory over host Dickinson College Saturday afternoon. The Fords compiled 40 kills to just 14 for the hosts.

The Fords will return to the conference tournament for the ninth consecutive year and have a chance to secure home-court advantage with three league matches remaining.

Haverford (14-12, 7-0 CC) was led by Kelsey Cantwell's 15 kills. Jenine Abbassi added eight kills and hit .357. Kate Comey handed out 32 assists and added nine digs. Kaelyn Anderson led the way defensively with 20 digs while Caitlyn Tranquillo and Hayley Lowrance had 11 each.

Avery Zuvic had a team-best six kills for the Red Devils. Joanna DeCastro helped the Dickinson (5-15, 2-6 CC) defense with 25 digs.

The Fords return home Monday to host Bryn Mawr College at 7 p.m.
