Volleyball sinks Shorewomen in three

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College volleyball team defeated Washington College, 3-0 (25-14, 25-12, 25-12), Tuesday evening at Gooding Arena in Centennial Conference action.

The Fords amassed 38 kills to just 19 for Washington (10-17, 2-5 CC). Haverford (13-12, 6-0 CC) forced the Shorewomen into 16 attack errors and a .034 hitting percentage.

Haverford tied a season-high with 15 service aces. Kelsey Cantwell led the team with six while Haley Lowrance had four. Cantwell also had a team-high 10 kills and Jenine Abbassi followed with nine. Caitlyn Tranquillo registered 12 digs. As a team the Fords had 7.0 blocks. Olivia Coburn-Flynn had two block solos and two block assists while Kate Comey assisted one three.

Alyssa Forget led Washington with seven kills. Rita Rivera came up with a match-high 13 digs.

The Fords travel to Carlisle, Pa. this Saturday to take on Dickinson College at noon.
