Cantwell gets player of the week nod

LANCASTER, Pa. – Senior Kelsey Cantwell of the Haverford College volleyball team was named Centennial Conference Player of the Week as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.

Cantwell helped Haverford to a 3-0 week with 40 kills, nine service aces and 27 digs. She led the Fords with 10 kills and a season-high six service aces against Washington last Tuesday and tallied a match-high 15 kills in a sweep of Dickinson Saturday. The win versus the Red Devils clinched a berth in the Centennial Conference tournament for the Fords. Two days later, Cantwell once again recorded a match-high 15 kills to go along with 13 digs and three service aces in a victory over Bryn Mawr.

Cantwell and the Fords travel to second-place Swarthmore College Wednesday evening for a 7 p.m. match. The Garnet sit at 7-1 in the conference. The winner will have a leg up in the right to host the Centennial Conference tournament.
