Women’s volleyball takes conference opener from Dickinson, 3-0

CARLISLE, Pa. – The Haverford College women's volleyball team picked a 3-0 (25-21, 25-7, 25-6) victory over host Dickinson College in the Centennial Conference opener for both schools Wednesday night.

Outside hitter Caitlyn Tranquillo and middle hitter Olivia Coburn-Flynn led Haverford (5-7, 1-0 CC) eight kills each. Coburn-Flynn recorded a hitting percentage of .727 (eight kills, zero errors, 11 attempts) Outside hitter Laura Ramos recorded seven kills. Setter Haley Lowrance tallied 31 assists. Libero Sarah Brody was the defensive leader with nine digs. The Fords had a season-high hitting percent of .357 (33-8-70).

For Dickinson (2-8, 0-1 CC), Liz Norris and Avery Zuvic had four kills apiece.  Setter Grace Morgan had nine assists. The Red Devils were held to a hitting percentage of -0.014 (15-16-73).

Haverford returns to the court Saturday, Sept. 24 with a pair of matches at Elizabethtown College. The Fords take on No. 11 Juniata College at 10 a.m. followed by a match against St. Mary's (Md.) College at noon.
