Women's volleyball rallies to down Muhlenberg College, 3-2

ALLENTOWN, Pa.  – Three Fords recorded double-figure kills as the Haverford College women's volleyball team overcame a pair deficits to defeat host Muhlenberg College, 3-2, in a Centennial Conference match Wednesday night.

After winning set one 25-12, Haverford (7-8, 2-0 CC) dropped the next two sets 27-25 and 25-18. The Fords bounced back to win set four 25-22. In the final set Haverford trailed 10-7 when it ended the match with an 8-2 run, winning the set 15-12.

Outside hitter Laura Ramos led Haverford with a double-double consisting of a match-high 14 kills and a team-high 20 digs. Middle hitters Jenine Abbassi and Emily Mills recorded 13 and 11 kills, respectively. The 11 kills for Mills is a career-high. Setter Haley Lowrance added a double-double of her own with 36 assists and 15 digs. Outside hitter Caitlyn Tranquillo and libero Jordan Scolaro had 17 digs each. Scolaro set her career-best in digs.

For Muhlenberg (3-11, 1-2 CC), outside hitter Jackie Price had 14 kills. Setter Nikki Dickson tallied 19 assists. Libero Alyssa Schell had a match-high 21 digs.

Haverford extended its regular-season Centennial Conference winning streak to 30 with the victory.

The Fords return home to take on conference foe Gettysburg College Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m.
