Volleyball makes quick work of GreenTerror

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Making quick work of host McDaniel College, the Haverford College volleyball team streaked to a 3-0 Centennial Conference victory over the Green Terror in a match that saw the Fords trail the hosts only twice in three games.

Haverford (11-11, 5-3 CC) led from start to finish in the first (25-5) and third games (25-11) and had to overcome only two McDaniel (0-23, 0-8) leads during a 25-9 game-two victory.

Caitlyn Tranquillo had a solid day on the court for the Fords leading the attack with 11 kills while adding 10 digs to trail only teammate Sarah Brody's match-high 12 digs. Tranquillo also contributed one of Haverford's seven service aces.

The Fords converted an amazing 41 percent of their attacks as six players registered kills in the contest with each player converting at a 25 percent or better clip. The offensive attack was set up by Haley Lowrance who had a match-high 34 set assists. On the other side of the net, McDaniel posted a minus-.205 attack percentage in the loss.

The Fords take a brief step away from conference play with their next outing, Tuesday night's Main Line match against host Cabrini College.
