AVCA Poll

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College volleyball team was listed on two ballots in the 2015 American Volleyball Coaches' Association (AVCA) Division III Top 25 preseason poll the organization announced today.

The last time the Fords were ranked in the top 25 was Nov. 10th, 2009. Calvin comes into the preseason poll ranked as the No. 1 team while Emory (No. 2), Hope, the defending national champion (No. 3), Wittenberg (No. 4) and Cal Lutheran (No. 5) round out the top five. Haverford was the only team in the Centennial Conference to receive votes.

The volleyball team lost just three players from a 2014 squad that won 22 matches and went to the NCAA regional semifinals for the first time since 2009. Rising senior Meg O'Day was selected to the AVCA All-American third team, AVCA All-Regional, Newsport News Regional All-Tournament team and was just the fifth player in program history to win Centennial Conference Player of the Year.

Head coach Michele Benoit's team will travel to Cabrini (Sept. 1) to begin the season before hosting CCNY and Stevenson in the Haverford/Swarthmore Invitational (Sept. 5-6).
