HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's volleyball team was picked sixth in the 2016 Centennial Conference preseason poll, the conference office announced on Monday morning. The preseason poll was decided solely by a vote of the conference head coaches, who were not allowed to vote for their own teams.

Haverford received 51 votes, edging out Gettysburg, who tallied 49 for a seventh place finish. Swarthmore received seven first-place votes and earned a total of 93 points to secure the top spot in the preseason poll. Johns Hopkins received one first-place vote and collected 85 points to finish second in the poll. Picked to finish third, Franklin & Marshall had three first-place votes and 79 points overall. 

Head coach Drew Hargrave's squad will travel to Immaculata (Sept. 1) to begin the season before hosting Marymount, MIT, Heidelberg and Delaware Valley in the Haverford Invitational on Sept. 3-4 at Calvin Gooding '84 Arena.
