HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford College volleyball junior libero Juliet Young (Guilford, Conn. / Guilford) has been honored as the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week in recognition of her outstanding performance on the volleyball court for the week ending September 10.

During a 2-1 weekend for the Fords, Young displayed her trademark defensive skills and versatility, tallying an impressive 63 digs, averaging 6.30 digs per set.

In addition to her defensive prowess, Young contributed six assists. Her reliability in serve receptions was particularly notable, with an impressive 58 receptions and just four errors, resulting in a reception rate of .931.

Nationally, Young ranks 16th in Division III in total digs and 21st in digs per set according to the latest national statistical release on Monday. This is the second weekly win of Young's career, and the first since the conference split the offensive and defensive awards prior to the 2022 season.

Young and the Fords return to action on Saturday, taking on SUNY Cortland and Scranton in a tri-match in the Electric City. The first match is slated to begin at noon.
