HAVERFORD, Pa. – Haverford College men’s track & field has been named a 2013-14 All-Academic Team as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). This marks the ninth straight honor in as many years since the association combined the indoor and outdoor season into one award.

Haverford was one of 93 men’s teams across NCAA Division III that earned a team GPA of 3.10 or higher. Being leaders in the classroom is nothing new to Haverford as both the indoor and outdoor track & field squads led the Centennial Conference in academic honor roll selections for that respective sport.

In addition to the team recognition, Avi Bregman, Gebby Keny, David Roza, Brian Sokas, and Christopher Stadler were each honored as USTFCCCA Scholar Athletes. To qualify for this honor, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30. The student-athlete must also have competed in either the indoor or outdoor NCAA track championships or finished a season ranked in the top 35 nationally in an individual event or top 25 in a relay event.

A 2014 NCAA Outdoor Champion in the 5,000 meters, Stadler also finished second in the 10,000 meter outdoor race. He was also fifth in the indoor 3,000 meter championship and anchored the Distance Medley Relay’s runner-up finish during the indoor season. Keny was also a member of the indoor DMR that finished second in the country. Bregman earned an All-America certificate with a fourth-place finish in the steeplechase, while also qualifying in the 5,000 meters during the indoor season. Along with Bregman, Roza also qualified for the finals of the steeplechase during the outdoor season. Sokas finished the year ranked 29th overall in the outdoor 5,000 meters.
