Haverford College Athletics

  • Haverford had 53 student-athletes named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll, the most of any school in the conference 
  • 20 student-athletes made the All-Centennial Conference Team 
  • The Fords earned 111.5 points towards the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup 
  • Men’s cross country won the Centennial Conference for the 19th time in 22 seasons
  • Volleyball earned the right to host the Centennial Conference Tournament, while men’s soccer also qualified for the conference playoffs as the host of the opening round game
  • Men’s cross country made the NCAA Championship for the 22nd consecutive time, the team’s 32nd national championship team appearance overall
  • Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team: Zachary Gabor (Men's Cross Country), Charlotte Lellman (Women’s Cross Country), Catherine Aronowitz (Field Hockey), Charlie Crawford (Men’s Soccer), Kristin Hasselgreen (Women’s Soccer), Jeanna Kenney (Volleyball)

Men’s Cross Country

  • Had five runners among the top nine finishers in the Centennial Conference Championship (Nov. 1) to claim the title.
  • Finished fourth at the Mideast Regional (Nov. 15)
  • Placed 14th at the NCAA Division III Championship (Nov. 22)
  • Ranked as high as No. 11 in the USTFCCCA National Poll.
  • Was the highest Non-Division I team in the field at the Paul Short Invitational (Oct. 4) and Princeton Invitational (Oct. 18).
  • All-Centennial Conference – (Christian – first team, Gorman – second team, Marquardt – first team, Rasmussen – first team, Roza – first team)
  • Have won the last five Centennial Conference individual titles.
  • With four runners among the top seven finishers in the conference meet, Haverford now has 89 first team all-conference runners.
  • Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll – (Barrett, Brier, Curry, Drake, Gabor, Gandolfo-Lucia, Gardner, Gooding, Hale, Hamilton, Marsico, Priver and Schneider)

  • All-Mideast Region team

Tom Donnelly

  • Centennial Conference Coach of the Year

Charlie Marquardt

  • Mideast Region Runner of the Year
  • All-Mideast Region team
  • Centennial Conference Runner of the Year
  • Won the Mideast Regional and Centennial Conference meets becoming the first Fords' runner to win back-to-back meets since Anders Hulleberg '11 in 2010.
  • Set a new course record (24:57.4) at the Big Spring High School at the regional meet and was one of only two runners in the 343 person field to finish the race in less than 25 minutes.
  • Was the highest Non-Division I runner in the Main Line Invitational (Sept. 25).
  • Centennial Conference Runner of the Week (Sept. 19, Oct. 20).

Soren Rasmussen

  • Centennial Conference Runner of the Week  (Oct. 27)

David Roza

  • All-Mideast Region team
  • Had his 8K personal best (24:55.2) at the NCAA Championship (Nov. 22), placing a team-best 50th.

Women’s Cross Country

  • The Fords vaulted to No. 11 in the USTFCCCA Rankings after a second place finish in the long race at Dickinson to only Division I Bucknell (the team's highest ranking since they were No. 8 during 2012)
  • Haverford finished in sixth place in the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional
  • The Fords placed third in the Centennial Conference Championship.
  • Haverford has placed in the top three in each season since joining the Centennial Conference with the exception of a fourth place finish in 1999

Nora Weathers

  • All-Centennial Conference second team
  • Centennial Conference Runner of the Week (Sept. 22)
  • Won the Haverford Alumnae Race (Sept. 7)

Field Hockey

  • Senior Catherine Aronowitz and junior Brenna Boehman each scored two goals in a 4-3 victory over Misericordia over Sept. 24. It's the first time that the team had two players score at least two goals in a game since Oct. 26, 2013 when Bryn Bissey '14 and Megan Holt '14 did so vs. Swarthmore. 
  • All-Centennial Conference – (Martin – second team, Terrell – honorable mention)
  • Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll – (Lopes, Waldis)

Jen DiMaria

  • Set a school-record with five goals and 11 points at Swarthmore (Nov. 1)

Lindsey Lopes

  • Set career highs in shutouts (two), saves (99) and save percentage (.756) 

Allison Martin

  • Centennial Conference Defender of the Week – (Oct. 6,Oct. 27)

Men’s Soccer

  • Haverford has won at least 11 games in each for the fourth straight season under head coach Shane Rineer, the first time in the program's storied history that this feat has been accomplished
  • The Fords played for the Centennial Conference Championship for the third time in the last four seasons
  • Earned the NSCAA Team Academic Honor for 15th time in last 17 seasons, including each of the last nine years
  • NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic Region - Brady Seitz (third team)
  • All-Centennial Conference – (Corkery – honorable mention,  B. Seitz - first team, C. Seitz -honorable mention, Walcott - honorable mention)
  • Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll –(Clausen, Corkery, Olmstead, Oppler, C. Seitz, Willigan, Wirz, Yarosh)
  • The Fords' eight student-athletes on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll tied for the most among all men's soccer teams in the conference.

Will Corkery

  • His eight assists were tied for the most in the conference, marking just the third Haverford player to lead Centennial Conference in assists for a year.

Sam Miller

  • Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week  (Sept. 15)

Brady Seitz

  • Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week (Nov. 3)
  • Led the Centennial Conference in goals and points during the regular season, finishing the year with 12 goals and 27 points
  • Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week (Nov. 3)

Dorian Wirz

  • Archibald MacIntosh Award

Women’s Soccer

  • Haverford earned the NSCAA Academic Team Award for the ninth straight season and 16 times in the award's 17 year history
  • All-Centennial Conference – (Babicz  - honorable mention, Chernow  - second team, Friedman, second team)
  • Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll - (Antonisse, Babicz, Chernow, Fiore, Friedman, Hasselgren, Letts, Lopez, Miller)
  • The Fords' nine student-athletes that were named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll tied them for the most among all the women's soccer programs in the conference.
  • Finished at .500 or above for the eighth time in eight seasons under head coach Jamie Schneck

Michelle Babicz

  • All-Centennial Conference second team

Robin Chernow

  • All-Centennial Conference second team
  • Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 2, Sept. 9)
  • Led the Centennial Conference in save percentage (.682)
  • Graduates from Haverford as the program's career leader in goals against average (0.74), wins (42), and shutouts (35)
  • Her save percentage ranked third all-time for a single season at Haverford, while her eight shutouts were tied for fifth most in a single season with the Fords

Connie Friedman

  • All-Centennial Conference second team
  • Graduates tied for 15th in program history with 14 career goals

Volleyball

  • Defeated Swarthmore on Nov. 1 in five sets to clinch the right to host the Centennial Conference Tournament.
  • Took down the SUNY New Paltz Hawks in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in straight sets to win its first NCAA Tournament match since the 2009 season.
  • Won nine straight home matches during the season and finished with its best home record (12-2) since the 2009 season.
  • Qualified for the Centennial Conference playoffs for the 14th time in the last 15 years.
  • Meg O’Day is just the fifth player from Haverford to win conference Player of the Year and just the 11th player in conference history to be named to the first team three straight years.
  • Has won at least 20 matches for the third straight year under head coach Michele Benoit.
  • All-Centennial Conference – (Godbe – first team, O’Day – first team)
  • Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll – (Brody, Fuelling, Godbe, Keller, Kenney and Mayo)

Keri Godbe

  • Reached the 1,000 kill plateau vs. Gettysburg (Oct. 4)
  • Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Team

Nina Mutty

  • Centennial Conference Player of the Week (Oct. 6)

Meg O’Day

  • AVCA All-American third team
  • AVCA All-Regional team (North Region)
  • Centennial Conference Player of the Year
  • Led the conference in kills (458), total blocks (123), points (560.5) and was tied for second in attack percentage (.346).
  • Set a program record for total blocks while her kills were second best and attack percentage was third.
