Haverford College Athletics

  • Haverford had 59 student-athletes named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll, the second most of any school in the conference 
  • 25 student-athletes made the All-Centennial Conference Team 
  • The Fords earned 187.5 points towards the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup, the second most points from a fall season in school history (225.5 points in fall of 2012)
  • Men’s cross country won the Centennial Conference for the 20th time in 23 seasons
  • Men’s soccer won the Centennial Conference for the second time in four seasons on Walton Field
  • Volleyball advanced to the Centennial Conference Championship match, while field hockey also qualified for the Centennial Conference Tournament
  • Men’s soccer advanced to the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament, its deepest run in the NCAA Championship in program history (5 appearances)
  • Men’s cross country placed 12th at the NCAA Championship, the team’s 23nd consecutive appearance at the NCAA Championship and 33rd appearance all-time
  • Women’s cross placed 24th at the NCAA Championship, the team’s sixth appearance in the past seven seasons and 15th in program history
  • Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team: Bill Ristow (Men's Cross Country), Molly Allen (Women’s Cross Country), Stephanie Terrell (Field Hockey), John Kerber, (Men’s Soccer), Jeanna Kenney (Volleyball)

Men’s Cross Country

  • Placed 12th at the NCAA Championship (Nov. 21)
  • Went to the NCAA Championship for the 23rd consecutive time
  • Won the Mideast Regional (Nov. 14) 
  • All-Mideast Region – Marquardt, Gorman, Fujimori, Woods, Peet, Gandolfo-Lucia, Verner-Crist
  • Defended Centennial Conference title with eight runners among the top 14 finishers. (Oct. 31)
  • Have won the last six Centennial Conference Individual titles
  • All-Centennial Conference – Marquardt, Gorman, Fujimori – first team, Peet, Gandolfo-Lucia, Woods, Brier and Verner-Crist – second team
  • Won four consecutive meets beginning with the Rowan Inter-Regional Border Battle (Oct. 17).
  • Finished No. 7 in the USTFCCCA National Poll, the team’s highest since being place No. 1 on November 12th, 2012.

Tom Donnelly

  • Mideast Regional Coach of the Year
  • Centennial Conference Coach of the Year

Charlie Marquardt

  • NCAA All-American (12th place)
  • Mideast Regional Runner of the Year
  • All-Mideast Region
  • Centennial Conference Runner of the Year - The senior is just the fifth person in conference history and fourth person from Haverford to win back-to-back titles.
  • All-Centennial Conference first team
  • Centennial Conference Runner of the Week (Sept. 21, Oct. 5, Oct. 19)
  • Won five races this season (Haverford Alumni Open Race – Sept. 5, Paul Short Run – Oct. 2, Rowan Inter-Collegiate Border Battle – Oct. 17, Centennial Conference Championship – Oct. 31, Mideast Regional – Nov. 14.

Graham Peet

  • All-Centennial Conference second team
  • Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year

Women’s Cross Country

  • The Fords ranked as high as No. 20 in the USTFCCCA Rankings before finishing the season with a 24th place finish at the NCAA Championship
  • Haverford finished third at the NCAA Mideast Regional with four All-Mideast Region performances
  • The Fords placed second at the Centennial Conference Championship behind two all-conference honorees as they have now placed first or second at the conference championship in 17 of the 23 conference championship meets
  • Haverford won three races as a team during the season: Dickinson Long/Short Invitational 6,000 meter race, Paul Short Invitational white race, Haverford Invitational
  • All-Mideast Region – Katie Sullivan (9th place), Amelia Keyser-Gibson (12th place), Nora Weathers (14th place), Maggie Heffernan (34th place)
  • All-Centennial Conference – Sullivan (first team, 6th place), Weathers (second team, 8th place)

  • Won the Haverford Alumnae Race (Sept. 5)

Field Hockey

  • Picked up a 5-3 win over the McDaniel Green Terror (Oct. 24) to clinch the Centennial Conference playoff berth for the sixth time in the last seven seasons.
  • Went on a six-game winning streak which is tied for the fourth longest in program history.
  • Have won at least 10 games in five of the last six seasons
  • This year was the first time that the field hockey team had two members on the All-CC first team since Bridget Gibbons ’13 and Mary Hobbs ’13 in 2012.
  • All-Centennial Conference – (Waldis – first team, Martin, Veale – second team)
  • Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll – Betti, Boehman, Brakey, Carson, Fasicone-Hutchins, Frerotte, Lambros, Lopes, Martin, Rette, Terrell and Waldis

Lindsey Lopes

  • Graduated as the all-time leader in career wins (30).

Allison Martin

  • All-Centennial Conference second team
  • Centennial Conference Player of the Week (Oct. 5)
  • Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll

Elena Veale

  • All-Centennial Conference second team
  • Centennial Conference Player of the Week (Oct. 5, Oct. 26)
  • Career-high 13 goals, 28 points to place seventh in the conference in goals and ninth in points
  • Four game-winning goals which is one shy of the program high for a season.

Sarah Waldis

  • All-Centennial Conference first team
  • Centennial Conference Scholar-Athlete Award
    Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area team 
  • Registered career best with nine goals, five assists and 23 points
  • Centennial Conference Player of the Week (Sept. 21)

Men’s Soccer

  • Haverford won a team-record 18 games and also set the program’s record with 16 consecutive victories from September 19 through November 21.
  • The Fords have won at least 11 games in each of the past five seasons under head coach Shane Rineer, the first time in the program's storied history that the team has had even four such seasons
  • Haverford advanced to the NCAA Tournament Elite 8 as it hosted the NCAA Regional and Sectional Rounds on Walton Field for the first time in program history
  • The Fords captured their second Centennial Conference Championship in program history on Walton Field after becoming the first team since 2006 to go unbeaten and untied during regular season play
  • Haverford has played for the Centennial Conference Championship in four of the past five seasons
  • The Fords have served as host of the Centennial Conference Tournament in two of the past three seasons by virtue of finishing with the best record during the regular season
  • Earned the NSCAA Team Academic Honor for 16th time in last 18 seasons, including each of the last 10 years
  • All-Centennial Conference – Will Corkery (first team), Brady Seitz (first team), Colin Seitz (first team), Sam Yarosh (first team), Maclyn Willigan (second team), Sam Miller (honorable mention), Tejan Walcott (honorable mention)

Will Corkery

  • Finished the year with 13 assists to lead the Centennial Conference in that category for the second straight season, while also tying Yarosh for the Centennial Conference lead with a school-record seven game-winning goals
  • was named Centennial Conference Tournament MVP after scoring the game-winning goals in both the Centennial Conference semifinal and championship matches

Sam Miller

  • All-Centennial Conference Honorable Mention
  • Two-time Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week (9/28, 11/2)

Shane Rineer

  • was named the Centennial Conference and NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year and was a finalist for the National Coach of the Year.

Brady Seitz

  • All-Centennial Conference first team
  • Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week (9/28)

Sam Yarosh

  • became the first player in program history to be named the Centennial Conference Player of the Year and was also named the conference’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year
  • All-Centennial Conference first team
  • Led the Centennial Conference with 17 goals, while also tying Corkery for the Centennial Conference lead with a school-record seven game-winning goals
  • Four-time Centennial Conference Player of the Week (9/8, 10/5, 10/19, 10/26)
  • Named to CoSIDA All-America first team
  • CoSIDA Academic All-District III first team honoree

Women’s Soccer

  • Haverford earned the NSCAA Academic Team Award for the 10th straight season and 17 times in the award's 18 year history
  • All-Centennial Conference – Jo Haller (second team), Abby Letts (second team), Katie Safter (honorable mention)
  • Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll – Anna Dekle, Kristen Fiore, Abby Letts, Ali Lopez, Kathy Prescott
  • Went undefeated (7-0) in non-conference play for the first time in program history
  • Won 11 games, the sixth time in the past seven seasons that team has reached double figures in wins

Jo Haller

  • All-Centennial Conference second team
  • Tied the program’s single season record with five game-winning goals

Ali Lopez

  • Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week (9/28)

Volleyball

  • Qualified for the Centennial Conference playoffs for the 15th time in the last 16 games.
  • Won 20 matches for the fourth straight season, only the second time in the program history that the team has done that.
  • Advanced to the Centennial Conference Championship with a 3-2 comeback victory over the Swarthmore College Garnet (16-25, 16-25, 25-18, 25-23, 18-16). The fifth set featured 15 ties and eight lead changes. Neither team led by more than one except for two occasions at 5-3 and 18-16.
  • All-Centennial Conference – (O’Day – first team, Godbe – second team)
  • Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll – Courouble, Godbe, Keller, Kenney, Mayo, Walsh and Wong.

Meg O’Day

  • AVCA All-American Honorable Mention
  • AVCA All-North Region
  • Became just the sixth player in Centennial Conference history to receive all-conference first team accolades four times
  • Graduates as the all-time leader in attack percentage (.349) and block assists (244)
