Strayer notches 2013 Festival's first hat trick

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Senior Alisa Strayer of the Haverford College cricket team recorded a hat trick Thursday afternoon in the host Fords' 156-64 victory over Royal Auto Club (RAC) on the opening day of the 2013 Philadelphia Cricket Festival at Cope Field.

Stayer's hat trick was the first of the 2013 Festival.

The Fords opened Thursday with a 175-80 defeat at the hands of Sarasota Cricket Club.

In the day's second match, Haverford rolled to a commanding victory over RAC. In addition to her hat trick Strayer finished 3-for-14. Teammate Thomas Leonard was 2-for-14.

Friday afternoon saw host Haverford drop a narrow, 95-92 decision to Amwell Valley Cricket Club, and Saturday on the final day of the Festival the Fords lost another heart breaker, this time a 104-99 defeat against Hoboken Cricket Club.
