Cricket Falls to Philadelphia CC 91-90
PHILADELPHIA - The Haverford College cricket team fell to Philadelphia Cricket Club 91 to 90, with each team losing 9 wickets in Sunday's match on Philadelphia's grounds.

The match came down to the last ball with the score tied 90 to 90 and junior Daniel Waranch bowling to Philadelphia's final batting pair. Another wicket would have ended the match in a tie, but Philadelphia captain Tom Culp's gentle shot was just out of reach of Haverford hands, and sophomore David White's outfield throw was inches away from connecting with the stumps which would have meant a run out for Culp. Instead, Philadelphia took its game-winning single.

Almost half of Philadelphia's runs were unearned. A shot that went out of bounds earned Haverford a penalty: a ten-run bonus for Philadelphia. The Fords dug themselves into a deeper hole by giving the home team 33 runs from wides, byes and no balls.

Freshman Raghav Bali continued to take wickets, dropping five batsmen, while stellar defensive work with two catches apiece from junior Ty Joplin and  senior Atreya Dey kept the match tense until the final moment.

Haverford looks to end their three-game road series with a win when they face Amwell Valley (NJ) Cricket Club next Sunday.

Final score: Philadelphia 91/9 (17.5), Haverford 90/9 (25)
