Cricket Suffers Defeat to Amwell Valley

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ. - After Sunday's defensive inning, the Haverford College cricket team came off the Amwell Valley pitch with its heads high.

The Fords held Amwell Valley's tough batting lineup to 109 runs on a small pitch and did so with their sharpest bowling and fielding of the season. Haverford had excellent bowling from freshmanRaghav Bali, junior Ty Joplin, sophomore David White, and junior Daniel Waranch.

Unfortunately, Haverford's offense just could not keep pace with Amwell Valley. The Fords offense scored 39 runs by the time the last wicket fell in the eighteenth over despite several attempts to shake up the order.

Haverford begins a three-game homestand as it hosts the Intercollegiate Cricket Championship the next two weekends. The Fords take on the University of Pennsylvania (Sept. 27), Temple University (Sept. 28), and Drexel University (Oct. 4).
