Vestrich-Shade and Egilman Named CSA Scholar Athletes

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Juniors Nathan Vestrich-Shade and Alex Egilman of the Haverford College men's squash team were named to the College Squash Association's (CSA) Scholar Athlete list today.

To meet the criteria for the award, players on varsity teams must be a two-time letterwinner at the school they are attending, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above, be enrolled at their present school for one full year prior to present term and had played in a top-10 ladder position for the majority of the season.

Vestrich-Shade was a team captain and played all 19 matches for the Fords at the No. 1 ladder position. The junior won seven matches during the season and was invited to participate at the CSA Individual Championships.

Egilman set new career high with five victories during the 2014-15 season. The junior had three sweeps during the year and won in his final match of the season vs. Northeastern at the CSA Team Championships.

The men's squash team had a banner season winning 11 matches, the most since the 2006-07 season. The Fords ended the season with five wins in their last seven matches, finishing No. 38 in the final national rankings.
