Men's Squash Concludes LL Championships With 8-1 Victory over Bard

CANTON, N.Y. - The fifth-seeded Haverford College men's squash team (6-10) concluded its participation in the Liberty League Championships with an impressive 8-1 victory over seventh-seed Bard (2-9) in Sunday morning's consolation action at the Robie Squash Center on the campus of St. Lawrence University.

Noteworthy moments in the match unfolded at the eighth and ninth flights, where Zadoc Bond conceded only two total points in a comprehensive sweep against Bard's Cody Coon at the eighth flight (11-1, 11-1, 11-0). Ali Nurkhaidarov secured a flawless victory by blanking Kasiem Washington 11-0, 11-0, 11-0 at the ninth flight.

Throughout the lineup, Haverford dominated the Raptors, with Aaryaman Jaising allowing just seven total points in his sweep of Luca Heidelberg at the second flight. Peter Lehv permitted only five points against Will Egan at the third flight, while Qianzhi Zhao handled Ali Mounim Rajabi in straight games at the fourth flight (11-2, 11-3, 11-3). Arvin Krishnan recorded two games without conceding a single point to Ahmad Shoaib Jalil (11-0, 11-3, 11-0).

Garret Fantini played at the sixth flight, dispatching Sachin Wijay with scores of 11-2, 11-3, 11-4. Matt Sullivan entered the lineup at the seventh flight, blanking Jacob Nathan in the first two games before securing an 11-4 closeout win in the sweep.

Bard secured its sole point of the afternoon at the top flight, where Artemy Mukhin won the first two games over Noah Tunis. Tunis responded with a pair of triumphs to force a fifth game, but Mukhin ultimately prevailed 11-9.

Looking ahead, Haverford will now have the opportunity to compete for a divisional championship closer to home. The 2024 CSA Divisional Team Championships are scheduled for February 16 through February 18 at the Arlen Specter USA Squash Center in Philadelphia's University City district.
