HAVERFORD, Pa. -  The Haverford College men's squash team comes into the 2016-17 campaign in a similar situation as the women's squad: relying on some key returners while also trying to replace five graduating seniors with a young group.  The College Squash Association (CSA) has ranked the Fords as the No. 30 varsity team in the nation.

Last season, Haverford finished 8-13 with a final CSA ranking of 36. The Fords finished fourth in the Chaffee Cup division at the team championships. Haverford won four of its final six matches, including three regular season games and one game in the College Squash Association (CSA) team championship.

Returning captain Zach Cole, who is studying abroad during the fall semester, led the team in overall wins while Ryan Dukarm, Aaron Horwitz, Peter Dudley, Yash Singh and Alex Liu are key returners who participated in the CSA Team Championships a season ago for Haverford.

Dudley who participated mainly as No. 2 on the ladder last season is anticipated to join Singh (No. 4), Horwitz (No. 5), Cole (No. 6), Dukarm (No. 8) and Liu (No. 9) as returners who will factor into ladder in 2016-17.

Haverford adds Cyrus Bahadori, Tate Miller and Keshav Kalani to the team while Robert Kacergis, a Cornell graduate, joins as an assistant coach. The Fords face some key tests this season including an early fall showdown with No. 29 Connecticut College (Nov. 19) and matchups with Denison (Jan. 29), Bucknell (Feb. 11) and Boston College (Feb. 11).

The first home match at the GIAC Squash Courts is a Hood Trophy battle against Swarthmore on December 3. The match is slated to begin at 12:00 p.m.

All the action begins on Saturday as the Fords head to Navy to take on Washington (2:00 p.m.) and Richmond (4:00 p.m.).
