Brackets Unveiled As Men's Squash Readies For CSA Team Championships

College Squash Association National Team Championship Brackets

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The College Squash Association (CSA) has released the brackets for the 2017 Men's College Squash Team Championships, which will take place in Cambridge, Mass. from February 17-19. Matches are slated to be played on courts at Harvard, MIT, Brooks School and Belmont Hill School.

For the fourth straight season, the men's team drew the Chaffee Cup (E division). The Fords will compete as the 34th ranked team in the nation. Haverford will face off with No. 39 Washington in its first round contest on Friday at 4:45 p.m at MIT.

Earlier this season, Haverford fended off Washington 6-3 at the Navy Round Robin in Annapolis, Md. Other familiar foes in the Chaffee Cup division include Bucknell, Georgetown, Denison and Boston College in addition to Chicago and Bard, two squads that Haverford has not seen this season.

The Fords defeated Georgetown and Boston College at home while besting Denison at a neutral site in Carlisle, Pa. Haverford most recently faced off with the top seeded team in the division, No. 33 Bucknell, falling 5-4 in a hard-fought epic that may serve as a preview of the Chaffee Cup championship match.

Haverford is 12-7 and won its most games in a single season since a 13 win season in 2004-05. Ryan Dukarm (13-5) and Yash Singh (12-7) lead the Fords in wins, with each having a chance to eclipse the program record for single-season wins held by Tim Saint, who tallied 14 in 2000-2001.

Overall, there will be 62 teams participating in eight divisions: Potter Cup (A Division), Hoehn Cup (B Division), Summers Cup (C Division), Conroy Cup (D Division), Chaffee Cup (E Division), Serues Cup (F Division), Hawthorn Cup (G Division), and the H Division. Yale will be looking to defend its national championship with a Potter Cup victory while No. 1 Trinity and host No. 2 Harvard hold the top two seeds.

Web streaming of select courts will be available via SQUASHTV and live scoring will also be available throughout the weekend. Live scoring and bracket updates will also be avaliable via the CSA website at collegesquashassociation.com.
