HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's tennis team has jumped back into the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic South Region rankings. The Fords (11-5) fill the No. 15 slot in the regional rankings in the latest release.

The Fords also have a player represented in the regional singles rankings as Luis Acaba finds himself ranked 24th in this same set of rankings. Acaba is 8-4 during the spring season, playing all his matches at the top of the Fords' lineup.

Haverford is currently in the midst of the Centennial Conference Tournament. The Fords avenged a regular season defeat to Dickinson during the regular season with a 5-2 victory in the Centennial Conference first round on their home courts Wednesday.

All five teams that qualified for the Centennial Conference tournament are represented in the latest regional rankings. No. 5 Johns Hopkins and No. 7 Swarthmore are also the top two seeds in the conference tournament. No. 16 Franklin & Marshall and No. 17 Dickinson, the third and fifth seeds in the conference tournament, round out the Fords' Centennial Conference peers in the rankings.

The Fords are seeded fourth in the Centennial Conference Tournament and will now travel to Baltimore this weekend for a matchup with top-seeded Johns Hopkins. That match will take place at 11 a.m. Swarthmore and Franklin & Marshall will meet in the other semifinal. The winners of those respective semifinal matches will play each other on Sunday.

On top of Acaba's success in the No. 1 singles position, the Fords have a pair of freshmen with 10 victories in Dais Nakayama and Ishaan Prinz. Harrison Elbert has nine singles victories on the year. Zack Mason has matched Acaba's eight singles victories this season, while Caleb Mayer has seven wins to his credit.

In doubles, Acaba and Elbert have combined for eight wins together as the Fords' top doubles pairing. Freshmen Nakayama and Prinz have five victories teaming up in doubles. The postseason No. 3 pairing of Eli Phelps and Benjamin Soloway has recorded four wins as doubles partners this season.
