Season Review: Men's Tennis Rolls to Most Wins Since 2007 Season

Signature wins: The Haverford College men's tennis team had plenty a big wins during an 11 match winning streak this past spring. The Fords racked up some of those victories with a pair of wins against Division I opponents Sacred Heart (W, 4-3) and La Salle (W, 8-1). Haverford also topped Division II University of the Sciences (W, 6-3) and nationally-ranked Franklin & Marshall (W, 6-3) throughout the regular season. The win against the then-No. 29 Diplomats guaranteed the Fords their 10th trip to the Centennial Conference semifinals in the last 11 seasons by virtue of earning a top three seed. Those wins all came as part of a 13-4 campaign which was the team's most wins since the 2007 season.

Season notes: Haverford went 13-4 overall with a 7-2 record during Centennial Conference play … The Fords' 13 wins were the most since the 2007 season … Haverford has now won at least 11 matches in each of the past five seasons, accomplishing that feat for the first time since the 1991-95 campaigns … Haverford's 11 match winning streak during the season tied for the fifth longest in program history … Haverford finished the year ranked No. 11 in the ITA Atlantic South Regional poll after being ranked as high as No. 10 throughout the regular season … Four players reached at least 10 singles victories this year … Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year Josh Moskovitz and senior Zack Mason each led the team with 11 singles wins … Haverford's All-Centennial Conference doubles pairing of seniors Luis Acaba and Harrison Elbert finished with a team-best nine wins together … Luis Acaba finished his career as a three-time first-team All-Centennial Conference player in singles after earning rookie of the year and second-team honors as a freshman … Josh Moskovitz was Haverford's second Centennial Conference Rookie of the Year in the past four years (Acaba) … Dais Nakayama earned honorable mention All-CC recognition in singles after second-team honors last spring … Elbert and Acaba earned first-team All-Centennial Conference recognition in doubles for the second straight season together … Acaba was also named All-Centennial Conference in doubles three times, including first-team nods with Elbert the past two seasons.

Eli Phelps, Caleb Mayer, and Benjamin Soloway will also vie for time in the varsity lineup as each has experience success during their limited time in the singles and doubles lineup throughout their Haverford careers.
