HAVERFORD, Pa. – Dais Nakayama and Josh Moskovitz have been named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team. With both players in Haverford's No. 1 doubles pairing being honored, it marks the first time in program history that two players were recognized with this award in the same season. Both student-athletes are earning the award for the first time in their careers.

The honorees are voted on by the sports information offices of the 29 area institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. In order to be eligible for Academic All-Area honors, an athlete must be in at least his or her second year at the institution and hold a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 or better.

Moskovitz has been named an All-Centennial Conference selection in both singles and doubles during his first two seasons with the Fords, earning his initial first-team All-CC recognition in singles this spring. Playing No. 1 singles and doubles, Moskovitz finished the year ranked 18th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Assocation's Atlantic South Regional singles rankings. He won 10 matches in singles and tied for the team lead with nine victories in doubles.

Nakayama has combined to win five all-conference accolades in his first three seasons. A team captain during his junior season, Nakayama earned second-team honors in doubles with Moskovitz and honorable mention recognition for his seven wins in singles at the No. 2 spot in the lineup. Playing alongside Moskovitz, he too was tied for the team lead with nine doubles victories.

Men's tennis won 10 matches during the 2017 spring season and advanced to the Centennial Conference semifinals after a third place finish during the regular season. Haverford has made the postseason tournament in 11 of the past 12 seasons. The Fords finished the year ranked 13th as a team in the regional rankings and will return every player from that lineup next spring.

Haverford's duo is joined on the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Men's Tennis Team by Saint Joseph's Kyle Chalmers, Swarthmore's Mark Fallati and John Larkin, and Neumann's Zac Lazzaro.
