HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College men's tennis team went 7-2 in Centennial Conference play to earn the No. 3 seed in this weekend's conference tournament. The Fords will be making their ninth straight postseason appearance and 13th trip overall since the conference tournament began just 14 years ago.

Haverford's 13 victories as a team this spring are the most for the program since the 2016 team also won that many. The last time the Fords won more than 13 matches came during the program's first year in the Centennial Conference when the team went 14-6 overall. Haverford will open the tournament on Saturday at 3 p.m. against Swarthmore. It was the rival Garnet that emerged a 6-3 winner when these teams met during the regular season. Reversing that score would allow the Fords to make their fourth appearance all-time in the Centennial Conference Championship match. It would be the team's first championship match appearance since the 2013 season. Top-seeded Johns Hopkins will host that championship match on Sunday with the same 3 p.m. start time.

Just like he has done for much of his career, co-captain Josh Moskovitz leads the Fords' lineup as he is ranked No. 9 in Atlantic South region and holds a team-best 18-7 record this season. Moskovitz went 6-2 in Centennial Conference matches. He is likely headed for a rematch with the No. 13 player in the region, Jiung Jung, looking to avenge his defeat during the regular season. Kevin Yan joins Moskovitz at No. 1 doubles where that duo is 7-1 in Centennial Conference play this spring and ranked No. 14 in the region. One of their two regionally-ranked wins this spring came against Swarthmore's No. 1 pairing in a tiebreak. Yan went 7-2 in Centennial Conference singles this spring and is 16-9 overall on the year.

Haverford's third and fourth singles players, George Jiang and Pranav Krishnan, also make up the team's second doubles pairing. Jiang has been a breakout star during his rookie campaign with a 17-7 singles record that includes a 5-2 mark against conference foes. Krishnan went a team-best 7-1 in Centennial Conference singles matches this spring and has 12 victories overall to his credit. The Jiang/Krishnan pairing has won a team-best 15 doubles matches together after going 5-2 in conference play. Both Jiang and Krishnan were winners in singles the first time Haverford and Swarthmore met.

Nick Sweeney and Arnav Patodia fill the No. 5 and No. 6 spots in the singles lineup and also make up third doubles for Haverford. Sweeney has certainly made the most of his senior season with 12 singles victories, five of which came during conference action. Patodia has added 10 wins to a Haverford singles lineup which has won over 75 percent of all its Centennial Conference matches. Patodia holds a 4-2 CC record. Sweeney and Patodia combined for 10 wins together in doubles throughout the year.
