ORLANDO, Fla. - On Friday afternoon, the Haverford College men's tennis team (5-3) secured a 6-3 victory over Trinity (4-2) at the USTA National Campus in the Lake Nona district, marking its fourth consecutive win to conclude a successful spring break stint in Central Florida.

Haverford began the contest at the national center by securing victories in the first two doubles matches, establishing an early 2-0 lead. The duo of James McKenzie and Kirin Eicher edged out Eduardo Sanchez-Carrion and Pierce Rutledge with an 8-6 final score, while Adam Chow and Justin Minerva secured a win with an 8-5 victory over Jack Ginter and Luca Garbati of the Bantams.

The third-flight team of Mark Arboleda and Aiden Kim faced off against Brandon Felcher and Enrico Buoro, falling 8-6, thus sending Haverford into singles play with a narrow 2-1 lead.

As singles matches began, Trinity managed to tie the overall match score at 2-2, as Andrew Nelson defeated Niki Lavu (6-3, 6-1) in the fourth flight. Chait Krishna restored the Haverford lead by defeating Kartik Erodula 6-4, 6-2, while Kim brought the Fords to the brink of a clinch with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Rutledge at the number two spot.

At the top flight, Arboleda defeated Sanchez-Carrion in the first set, 6-4, before securing the second set via tiebreaker (7-6 [7-0]), earning Haverford's fifth point of the afternoon to clinch the result for the Fords.

Enrico Buoro narrowed the gap for the Bantams at the third position, pulling within 5-3 as he triumphed over Minerva in a superbreaker, rallying from a first-set loss (4-6, 6-4, 1-0 [10-4]).

James McKenzie, yesterday's triumphant clincher against Colgate, outlasted Felcher in a superbreaker for Haverford's sixth tally of the day, prevailing 11-9 after the pair split the first two sets, 6-4, 4-6.

The Fords now take some well-earned time off from competition, returning to action on Friday, March 29, against Stevens, with the match set to commence at 4 p.m. at Haverford's Bramall and Marshall courts.
