HAVERFORD, Pa. - The No. 46 Haverford Men's Tennis team (5-5) dropped a non-conference match to No. 17 TCNJ (9-0) on the Bettye Marshall and Norman B. Bramall Tennis Courts Saturday afternoon.

TCNJ jumped out to a hot start sweeping doubles play from the Fords, as Aayush Kishore and Dorian Makarski defeated Kirin Eicher and James McKenzie by an 8-3 final before the duo of Brett Schuster and Alberto Thomas took down Justin Minerva and Adam Chow 8-3, and the pairing of Matthew Michibata and Harrison Maitland-Carter turned away Stefan Johnson and Marko Arboleda 8-6.

Down 3-0 headed into singles play, the Fords recorded their first point of the day in flight six, as Mckenzie earned the win over Schuster in straight sets 6-4, 6-3. The Scarlet and Black pulled within one point after Minerva picked up a triumphant singles victory over Thomas 7-6 (9-7 tiebreaker), 6-4. However, Maitland-Carter pushed the Lions' lead back up to 4-2, after dispelling Niki Lavu 6-7 (7-9 tiebreaker), 6-2, 6-4 in four sets.

On court one, Michibata prevailed once again over Arboleda 6-1, 3-6, 7-5, to clinch the fifth point, giving TCNJ a hard-fought road win. Wins from Adrian Tsui (defeated Johnson 6-2, 1-6, 6-3) and Kishore (defeated Aiden Kim 7-6 (7-2 tiebreaker), 1-6, 6-4) wrapped up a 7-2 victory for the visiting Lions.

A quick turnaround awaits the Fords for their next match, as Haverford returns to Bettye Marshall and Norman B. Bramall Tennis Courts to host Washington College on Tuesday, April 2, for their annual Play with Pride match. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m.
