HAVERFORD, Pa. - Haverford College first-year Marko Arboleda secured the No. 20 spot in the latest ITA Division III Men's Regional Rankings for the Atlantic South, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) on Wednesday afternoon.

Arboleda holds the No. 20 position in the Atlantic South region, making him the fourth-ranked competitor among Centennial Conference players. Michael Melnikov of Swarthmore ranks third, while Daniel Ardila and Chakor Sankaran Rajendra of Johns Hopkins are placed 11th and 12th, respectively. As a team, the Fords claim the No. 39 spot overall in the ITA national rankings as they head into the final weekend of the regular season.

In the NCAA Regional Rankings, which differ from the ITA rankings but ultimately contribute to selection criteria for the NCAA tournament, Haverford ranks fourth behind Swarthmore, Johns Hopkins, and Stevens, but ahead of Franklin & Marshall, Washington College, and Goucher.

Arboleda ranks as the second-best singles player in Region III, trailing only Melnikov but significantly ahead of Ardila (fourth) and Sankaran Rajendra (eighth). Aiden Kim is also under consideration for ranking by the NCAA committee.

With a 15-6 overall singles record this season, including a 9-3 mark at the top flight during the dual-match season, Arboleda has demonstrated an impressive performance in his rookie season, anchoring the Haverford lineup.

The doubles duo of Arboleda and Stefan Johnson also secured the third rank in Region III. They have maintained an 8-8 record this season, including a 5-6 record exclusively at the top doubles flight during the dual-match campaign.

The national committee selects a percentage of singles players and doubles teams from each of the eight regions, leading to championships with 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams. The selection announcement is slated for May 8, 2024.

Haverford (10-7, 5-2 CC) resumes action on Saturday to conclude the Centennial Conference regular season at Dickinson, facing off against the Red Devils in Carlisle, with the match slated to begin at noon.
