HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford College men's cross country team had a very strong showing with 32 alumni returning for the team's annual alumni meet on Saturday afternoon.

Saturday's alumni/open race featured a total of 66 runners between the varsity, alumni and open entrants into the field. Charlie Marquardt was the first runner across the line in a time of 14:42. He just edged out the top alumni finisher Eric Arnold '12 by one second. The alumni team also captured the third and fourth place finishers with Chris Stadler '14 (14:51) and Avi Bregman '14 (14:53). Nicholas Gandolfo-Lucia was the fifth place finisher in the race.

The varsity squad returns to action at the Main Line Invitational on Friday, September 18. The men's race will start at 5:30 p.m. on the Alumni Cross Country Course.
