Centennial Conference Release

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Senior Charlie Marquardt of the Haverford College men's cross country team was picked as the Centennial Conference Runner of the Week, the league announced. This is the captain's third cross country weekly honor in his career.

Marquardt was the top non-Division I unattached runner at the Main Line Invitational on Friday at the Alumni Cross Country Course. The senior finished in 10th place (19:50) and helped Haverford to a fourth place finish in the team standings behind Division I Penn, Villanova and La Salle. The Fords placed in front of Widener, Swarthmore and Division I Temple.

This is the second time in his cross country career that Marquardt was selected as runner of the week after the Main Line Invitational (2014). The Pasadena, Calif., native had a spectacular 2014 cross country campaign as he won the Centennial Conference and Mideast Regional individual titles along with helping Haverford win the conference title for the 19th time in 22 seasons.

The No. 21 nationally ranked men's cross country team will take a week off before participating in the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University on Oct. 2 at 10 a.m.
